This private 8-hour tour covers Athens' main historical and cultural landmarks, from the Acropolis hill to the neoclassical city centre. You travel in a private Mercedes-Benz with a professional driver who is knowledgeable about Greek history and mythology at every stop. The day begins with door-to-door pickup from your hotel, apartment, or any other preferred location in Athens.
The itinerary takes you up to the Acropolis to see the Parthenon, then into the Acropolis Museum, across to the Ancient Agora and Temple of Hephaestus, and through the streets of Monastiraki's flea market and the historic Plaka neighbourhood. After a lunch break in the Koukaki district — at your own expense at a traditional taverna your driver can recommend — the afternoon continues with the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Panathenaic Stadium (the only all-marble stadium in the world, built for the 1896 Olympics), the neoclassical Academy–Library–University trilogy, and Syntagma Square, where you can watch the Evzone changing of the guard ceremony.
Because this is a private tour, the itinerary is flexible. You can rearrange stops, spend more time at any site, or add something the standard schedule doesn't cover. Your driver assists with the ticket process and provides links to purchase Acropolis tickets in advance to avoid queues on the day. Entry fees are not included in the tour price.
The vehicle has on-board Wi-Fi, mobile chargers, and cold water. A licensed guide can be arranged on request for an additional €320, subject to availability. Airport pickup and drop-off is also available at extra cost.
