Family Discovery Tour: Sea, Nature & Cretan Traditions

This guided day tour visits three distinct sites across Crete, designed to work for families with children of any age. Transport between stops is included, and pickup runs from hotels and accommodation along a stretch of the north coast from Amoudara to Malia and Sissi. The first stop is Cretaquarium, one of the largest aquariums in the Mediterranean. Guests walk through exhibits covering sharks, rays, octopus, and tropical species alongside local Mediterranean sea life. The displays are set up for both children and adults, with information panels in multiple languages. From there the group moves to a wildlife park where animals from Crete and further afield are kept in spacious, open environments. The visit is paced to allow time for observation and some interaction. This stop is designed as a calmer, outdoor experience between the aquarium and the cultural finale. The tour ends in a village known for its pottery tradition, one of the longest-running craft practices in Crete. At a working workshop, guests watch artisans shape and finish pieces using traditional techniques. The visit is observational but close enough to see the detail of the work.
