This private tour visits two family-owned wineries in Crete's wine country, giving small groups direct access to producers, their vineyards, and the stories behind each bottle. The tour departs at 10:30 with hotel pickup available across a wide stretch of the north coast, from Heraklion east to Agios Nikolaos and Elounda.
The first stop is a boutique organic winery. A guide leads the group through the vineyards and production facility before a tasting of five wines made from indigenous Cretan grape varieties. The second winery takes a different approach to winemaking — after a tour of its modern cellar, guests taste five additional wines accompanied by a platter of local delicacies. At both wineries there is time to speak directly with the winemakers about their methods and the characteristics of Cretan viticulture.
The tour ends with a sit-down lunch at a handpicked tavern in a traditional village. The meal includes authentic Cretan dishes served with wine and water. The group returns to their accommodation between 16:00 and 16:30.
The tour is private, meaning the vehicle and guides are dedicated to your group only. A minimum of two participants is required and the maximum is eight. Alcohol is not served to guests under 18. The tour involves some walking on vineyard and cellar terrain and is not suitable for guests with significant mobility difficulties.
